After a public tender process, Alstom has been awarded an amendment to the maintenance contract, signed in 2013, with Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBASE) . The new contracts´ scope includes the supply and installation of ventilation and air conditioning equipment to the 48 line D cars that are being modernized. The system will be delivered in 27 months.
The supply and installation was an optional service offered on the modernization contract. The 48 cars that are being modernized were supplied by Alstom in 1999 and have been circulating on line D since 2001.

Alstom has provided 96 cars for Line D of the Buenos Aires metro network and will supply more 120 cars to Line H. It has also worked on maintenance and modernization of cars and locomotives for freight and passenger transport operation. Presently, Alstom is working on implementing a new signaling system for the extended lines A and B of Buenos Aires Metro and on the renovation and modernization of existing metro and suburban cars.
