Alstom Grid will participate in CIGRE conference & exhibition 2014

This year at CIGRE 2014, Alstom Grid unveiled its latest innovations, set to transform the grid for a sustainable world.

Technological launches include:

-   g³(green gas for grid): Alstom is the first in the world to launch a clean alternative to SF_6, a gas commonly used in high-voltage equipment.

-   Direct Current (DC) Breaker: Alstoms prototype successfully interrupted a 5200-ampere current at 160 kV with full extinction of DC in less than 5.5 milliseconds under the real operational constraints of a high-voltage DC transmission grid.

Alstom also launched Asset Management Solution, a comprehensive business solution that maximises the value and reliability of customers electrical assets.

Finally, Alstom released Digital Substation 2.0, a smart digital technology that brings together the powerful potential of primary and secondary plant smart digital technologies, and is already under execution with our customers.

From 25^th to 29^th of August Alstom Grid will take part in the CIGRE exhibition which will be organized at Le Palais des Congres in Paris to showcase its latest innovations to transform the grid for a sustainable world.

Founded in 1921, CIGRE, the Council on Large Electric Systems, is an international non-profit Association for promoting collaboration with experts from all around the world by sharing knowledge and joining forces to improve electric power systems of today and tomorrow.
