Alstom has signed a contract with Energiselskapet Buskerud (EB) in Norway for the repair and refurbishment of the existing generator at the 1x25 MW Døvikfoss hydro power plant, for a total amount of 4 M.

The scope of the contract includes repair and refurbishment of the generator at Døvikfoss power plant. In order to limit the loss of energy production due to the spilling of water, the dismantling works started in May 2014 and the assembly of the new and refurbished parts will be completed in June 2015.

The hydropower plant is important for our energy supply in this region and we have chosen Alstom because of their competitive offer and their experience and expertise from similar types of projects", says Erik Andersen, Executive Vice President Production of EB.

Our hydropower experiences and our dedicated services team will be fully commited to refurbish the Døvikfoss hydropower plant in the most optimal way. This contract shows our commitment to the Norwegian hydro market", says Eric Staurset, Country President of Alstom in Norway.

Located in the community of Modum, in the south eastern part of Norway, the Døvikfoss hydro power plant was built in 1975 and exploits a head into the 48-kilometer long river named Drammenselva.

Alstom has successfully completed other hydro projects for EB in Norway, for example the Mykstufoss and Kaggefoss rehabilitation projects.
