    Alstom and TMH 2ES5 locomotive just obtained the certification, confirming its compliance with Russian mandatory safety norms. By 2020, 200 units will be delivered to the customer, Russian Railways (RZD). The first ones should enter commercial service during autumn and will start operating in Syberia along winter time.

    Alstom has been awarded contracts worth approximately €335 million ($450M) to supply a power island (KA24) for Iberdrola’s Monterrey III combined-cycle power plant in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon. The contracts also include a Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) for new unit 5 and for the existing 4 units. The commissioning is scheduled in 2016.

    Alstom Transport JV SATCO has delivered the first two driverless metros of 42 new metros ordered by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) in February 2012 (the company’s largest contract in Asia Pacific). These are the first metros to be manufactured in Asia for LTA in Singapore - proximity being of key importance to Alstom – but also SATCO’s first involvement in the detailed and 3D design of the trains and production for export.

    Alstom has commissioned the new Málaga Metro signalling system on lines 1 and 2 which officially enters into service on 30th July. It is based on Alstom’s Urbalis 400 CBTC, a train control system using radio communication which allows real time information about the location of the trains and improves substantially line operability and safety.

    Megalim Solar Power Ltd (Megalim) - a special purpose company formed by Alstom (25.05%), BrightSource (25.05%), and NOY Infrastructure & Energy Investment Fund (49,9%) - obtained the financing of the European Investment Bank and the Bank Hapoalim for the construction and operation of the Ashalim Thermal Solar Power Station in Israel.

    Alstom signed a contract worth around 120 million euros with Tractebel Energia Brasil, the largest private power generator in Brazil, to supply 36 units of ECO 122 wind turbines to Trairí II project, a wind farm located in Ceará State, Northeast of Brazil. The commissioning of Trairí project is scheduled for mid-2016 and will generate 97.2MW.

    Alstom Grid has successfully energised the second High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) turnkey project in South Korea, following the first also delivered by Alstom in 1997. The newly energised project, awarded in 2009, establishes a 400 MW HVDC bi-directional transmission line between Jindo and the island of Jeju.

    The final design of the new X’Ttrapolis MEGA commuter train to be delivered by Gibela to PRASA was unveiled during Africa Rail, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Ms Dipuo Peters and PRASA Group CEO, Mr Lucky Montana. Among the features of the train which were finalized were its interior and exterior outlines.

    The ad hoc committee of independent directors appointed by the Board on April 29, 2014 and led by Jean-Martin Folz, thoroughly reviewed, on multiple occasions, the proposed transactions. Based on the works of the committee and financial and legal advisors, the Board of Directors has unanimously decided to issue a positive recommendation of the offer from GE.
