Alstom and EVN inaugurate the first gas turbine reconditioning workshop in Vietnam

Alstom and Vietnam Electricity (EVN) officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art gas turbine reconditioning workshop, located in the Phu My district, in presence of Mr Hoang Trung Hai, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr Duong Quang Thanh, Chairman of the Members Council of EVN and Michael Rechsteiner, Senior Vice President Thermal Services at Alstom. It is the first reconditioning workshop in Vietnam and the first for Alstom's network in Asia.

Alstom unveils world’s first high-voltage equipment designed to use g3 - SF6-free gas at Hanover Fair

At the 2015 Hanover Fair, Alstom is presenting two first high-voltage applications using g3 (green gas for grid), a gas mixture that can replace SF6 for high voltage air-insulated (AIS) or gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) applications. SF6 is a potent greenhouse gas commonly used as an electrical insulator. In August 2014, Alstom became the first company in the world to offer the electrical industry a technically and economically viable alternative to SF6

Alstom’s Citadis links up Toulouse to the airport

The Alstom Citadis trams of the Toulouse conurbation will from now on circulate on the T2 line, which has just entered commercial service. This new line, which comprises 3 stations over a distance of 2.4 kilometres, links the airport of Toulouse Blagnac to the centre of Toulouse.

Alstom awarded a contract to supply EEB’s first 500 kV substation in Colombia

Alstom Grid has been awarded a €23 million contract to supply the first 500 kV substation for Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB). The substation will be located at Gachanzipa, 30 km north from Bogota, capital city of Colombia. It will connect the Hydro Sogamoso power plant to Bogota, improving and increasing the reliability of the city’s energy system. The project is due to be completed by mid-2017.

Alstom Citadis tram technology debuts in China

The joint venture of Alstom and Shanghai Rail Traffic Equipment Development Co., Ltd. (SRTED) - Shanghai Alstom Transport Co. (SATCO) - has been awarded a contract worth about €72 million by Shanghai Songjiang Tramway Investment and Operation Co. Ltd to provide 30 Citadis trams for the two first tramway lines of Songjiang, one of the suburban districts of Shanghai. This is the first tramway project with Alstom Citadis technology in China.
