Alstom to lead Smart Grid pilot in India

Alstom T&D India has been selected to lead the smart grid pilot project by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL). This pilot project will be located at the Kala Amb industrial area of Himachal Pradesh in Northern India and will serve over 1,500 consumers.

Alstom unveils its new green manufacturing and R&D site in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy

Alstom unveils world’s first high-voltage equipment designed to use g3 - SF6-free gas at Hanover Fair

At the 2015 Hanover Fair, Alstom is presenting two first high-voltage applications using g3 (green gas for grid), a gas mixture that can replace SF6 for high voltage air-insulated (AIS) or gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) applications. SF6 is a potent greenhouse gas commonly used as an electrical insulator. In August 2014, Alstom became the first company in the world to offer the electrical industry a technically and economically viable alternative to SF6

Alstom awarded a contract to supply EEB’s first 500 kV substation in Colombia

Alstom Grid has been awarded a €23 million contract to supply the first 500 kV substation for Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB). The substation will be located at Gachanzipa, 30 km north from Bogota, capital city of Colombia. It will connect the Hydro Sogamoso power plant to Bogota, improving and increasing the reliability of the city’s energy system. The project is due to be completed by mid-2017.

Alstom to build the first series compensation system in the South Australian transmission network

Alstom Grid has been awarded a multi-million euro turnkey contract by ElectraNet Pty Ltd to supply Flexible AC Transmission Systems in Southern Australia. Alstom will supply Fixed Series Compensation to increase the power transmission capacity by approximately 40 per cent, and improve power quality along the 275 kV South Australia – Victoria transmission line.

Alstom installs first HYpact switchgear for substation extension in Austria

Alstom successfully installed three HYpact-modules in Gänserndorf substation, located in Lower Austria and owned by Netz Niederösterreich GmbH, a company of the EVN Group . The HYpact-modules are an extension of the existing substation and were connected to the grid in February. This is the first installation of HYpact switchgear in Austria.

Alstom T&D India successfully commissions Rajasthan’s first 765kV substation at Anta

Anta is Rajasthan's first 765 kV substation, and the second largest with a total of twenty-six bays, ten 765 kV bays and sixteen 400 kV bays. This substation will play a significant role in pooling and evacuating the power flow from the three major power plants in the state (Kalisindh, Kawai and Chhabra) to the national grid.

Alstom achieved a sound level of orders and a solid increase in sales

Over the third quarter 2014/15 (from 1 October to 31 December 2014), Alstom booked €1.6 billion of orders, compared to €2.5 billion over the same period last year which included the Riyadh metro (€1.2 billion). The Group's sales, at €1.5 billion, were up 10% organically over the third quarter 2013/14.
