Alstom starts search for 2015 intake of graduates and apprentices


International engineering company Alstom has started its search for its next intake of graduates and apprentices to work in its energy and transport divisions.

Alstom to maintain sleeper trains in the UK


Alstom has been awarded a 15-year service contract worth €125 million by Serco
to maintain 75 passenger cars on the "Caledonian Sleeper" trains, one of only two sleeper services in the UK. Alstom has been providing maintenance services for the "Caledonian Sleeper" trains for more than a decade.

Alstom inaugurates a new bogie overhaul facility in Manchester


Alstom has inaugurated a new bogie overhaul facility in Manchester in the presence of Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council. The site which is 3,600 m² and counts 63 new employees is capable of overhauling up to 26 bogie sets every week.

Alstom’s tidal turbines have generated over 1GWh to the Scottish grid


As part of their testing programmes at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) in Orkney, Scotland, Alstom’s tidal devices have now generated over 1GWh of electricity, in actual operating conditions, to the Scottish grid. 

Alstom plans to develop new state-of-the-art facility in Stafford


International engineering company Alstom has today announced that it plans to build a new facility in Stafford to house its Automation division. Alstom will retain a number of its existing locations in the town and build the facility at the Redhill Business Park, with the aim to open it by the end of 2016, when the company’s UK Automation activities will move from its current location at its St Leonards site.

Christmas comes to Partington Community


Referred to sometimes as Mr Nasty because of his strict timekeeping and mobile phone use regime; Rainer Lueoend, site manager at Carrington Power Station, had the opportunity to show a more generous side to his character during the festive season.  Money raised from the late fine system he implemented at site, to the tune of over £2,800, has been donated to a variety of community groups in Partington.

Alstom delivered the final Citadis tram to Nottingham


Alstom delivered the last of the 22 Citadis trams for Nottingham Express Transit (NET). While five of them are already on service on Line 1, the 17 others - presently being tested - will enter service next year on the expanded NET network.
