Alstom and DCNS get together to found a sector of excellence in the floating wind energy business


Alstom Renewable Power Chairman Jérôme Pécresse and DCNS Maritime Energy and Infrastructures Division Director Thierry Kalanquin were on hand today as both groups signed a partnership agreement in the floating wind energy business. The agreement aims at developing and then commercialising an integrated system for a semi-submersible floating wind turbine delivering 6 MW.

Alstom to supply two synchronous condenser plants in Italy for Terna Rete Italia


Alstom has been awarded a contract by Terna Rete Italia S.p.A, the Italian leading electricity transmission grid operator, to supply two synchronous condenser plants in Partinico and Favara (Sicily, Italy), as part of the ECA consortium . Alstom’s share in the contract is worth close to €30 million, with commissioning expected in December 2015.

On October 9th Alstom and the Partnership Foundation Grenoble INP inaugurated an industrial chair dedicated to hydraulic machines, called "Hydro’Like". The objective of this chair is to unite the research efforts of a number of academic laboratories in Grenoble (France) and Alstom's global technology centre in order to develop the hydraulic machines of the future.

Alstom-Bharat Forge joint venture to supply steam turbine islands for NTPC’s Tanda power plant


Alstom Bharat Forge Power Ltd. (ABFPL), the joint venture company between Alstom and Bharat Forge, has signed a contract worth approximately € 130 million (11365 MINR) with NTPC Limited to supply two units of 660 MW supercritical turbine islands for the Tanda coal power plant, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. 

1,000 MW Manjung supercritical plant successfully synchronised to Malaysian Grid
