    Alstom achieves a solid commercial and operational performance and free cash flow turns positive

    Between 1 April 2012 and 31 March 2013, Alstom booked €23.8 billion of orders, up 10% compared to last year. As announced, the group achieved a strong level of orders in the fourth quarter at €6.6 billion, leading to a book-to-bill above 1 for the 10th consecutive quarter.

    Between 1 April and 30 September 2012, Alstom booked a sound level of orders at €12.1 billion, up 19% compared to the first half of last year, driven in particular by a strong semester for Transport. Over the same period, sales were up 4%, amounting to €9.7 billion.

    Between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2012, Alstom booked €21.7 billion of orders, up 14% compared to last year. As announced, the fourth quarter was particularly strong with €6.6 billion of new contracts.

  • Alstom creates a third Sector, Alstom Grid, with the acquisition of the transmission business of Areva

    By its acquisition on 7 June 2010 of Areva T&D’s transmission business, Alstom completes a decisive stage in its development by forming a new sector, named Alstom Grid, to supplement the existing two sectors in power generation and rail transport, Power and Transport. Priced at €2.3 billion, this acquisition gives a new dimension to the Group, which, now with its three activities, achieves sales of more than €23 billion and employs more than 96,000 people. 

  • Alstom and Schneider Electric finalise the acquisition of the transmission and distribution business of Areva

    Alstom and Schneider Electric proceed today with the closing of the transaction with Areva for the acquisition of Areva T&D, its transmission and distribution businesses, after obtaining the approvals of the relevant competition authorities and the French Commission des Participations et des Transferts (CPT).
