Duke Mgaga joined Alstom in 2012 as Alstom S&E Country HR Director.
Duke has 17 years of HR practical experience post his academic education. His position as Country HR Director entails attending to HR Spectrum disciplines which includes, Attraction, Talent Management, Organisational Effectiveness & Development, Compensation and Benefits, Retention Programme, Change Management, ER, Employee Engagement, HR tools and systems and Business Partnering.
Prior to Alstom, Duke held various roles at Shell South Africa and Shell UK as HR Lead and Operations Manager. Some highlights of his deliverables at Shell includes championing the Talent Strategy and implementation for Shell SA, development and refreshment of the Graduate Programme, Led HR Business Managers, organizational turnarounds, business acquisitions and divestments in Africa, outsourcing of businesses, development of Retention Strategy, influential in driving the Transformation Agenda, implementation of SAP system, and member of National Petroleum Employers Association. Duke also worked for various companies before his tenure at Shell, namely The Development Bank of Southern Africa, Metropolitan Health Group, and Gauteng Legislature.
Duke holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
