Lee Dawes started his career with GEC Power Station Projects in Trafford Park, UK in 1987 as a Project Engineer managing electrical and control systems for large coal, gas and nuclear EPC power plant projects in Asia and Europe.
In 1997 Lee moved to the Philippines to work in Power Plant commissioning. On his return he was transferred to Cegelec UK as a Project Manager working on the development of new business related to Flue Gas Desulphurization and Energy from Waste projects.
Since then Lee has operated as a Project Director for Alstom working on the construction of new EPC power plants around the world including Runcorn Boiler Project (UK), Kwinana 320MW CCGT (Australia), Langage 870MW CCGT (UK) and Staythorpe 1750MW CCGT (UK).
Over recent years Lee has specialized in the turn around of difficult projects and is interested in leadership of global teams and behavioral safety.
Lee holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sheffield and an Executive MBA from Henley Management College.
Lee is the Managing Director of the Alstom Power Steam Business in South Africa and is a Director of Alstom S&E (Africa) Pty Ltd.
