ALSTOM to acquire Sunvic Group and to strengthen its
Contracting activity

ALSTOM has signed an agreement for the acquisition of
SUNVIC, a German company specialised in projects and services
in the area of electrical contracting and instrumentation ,
particularly for the petrochemical and chemical industries.

This acquisition , still subject to the approval of the
relevant competition authorities , strengthens ALSTOMs
Contracting activity in terms of local presence and businesses.

It results from the implementation of a strategy set one year
ago to strengthen the european dimension of ALSTOM
Contracting.

SUNVIC, with its headquarters based in Solingen , has a
turnover of 90 million euros and employs some 700 people. This
company holds a strong local presence in Germany and in the
Benelux countries.

As an electrical contractor and systems integrator, ALSTOM
offers a complete range

of services for industry, buildings and infrastructures:
Facility Management, Building Management, Multimedia
Installation.

With over 200 permanent operational sites and the support of
centralised expertise when required, ALSTOMs Contracting
sector is able to offer a truly local service.

It employs 23,000 people with annual sales of around 2,2
billion Euros.

ALSTOM is a world leader in the energy and transport
infrastructure markets, organised in six sectors, Energy,
Transmission & Distribution, Transport, Power Conversion,
Marine and Contracting; all of these being supported by the
ALSTOM Network.

On 31 March 2000, ALSTOM announced the acquisition of
ABBs share in ABB ALSTOM POWER . As of the closing date,
ALSTOM will have a new combined turnover of more than 20
billion euros and will employ over 140,000 people in 100
countries.
