ALSTOM completes the acquisition of ABB’s 50% share in
ABB ALSTOM Power

ALSTOM today finalised its acquisition of ABBs 50%
share in ABB ALSTOM POWER.

All regulatory approvals have been obtained and the deal was
formally closed today.

This transaction which was previously announced on 31 March
2000 confirms ALSTOMs position as global specialist in
energy and transport infrastructures offering its customers a
unique expertise in complex project management, value-added
services and advanced technological solutions.

The Power activity, renamed ALSTOM Power is from now on
integrated and fully consolidated into ALSTOMs sector
reporting structure.

Following this acquisition ALSTOM has a new combined
turnover of more than 20 billion euros and employs over 140 000
people in 70 countries. ALSTOM Power is a world leader in the
supply of power generation equipment and services and employs
around 50 000 people world-wide.
