Inaugurating the facility, Mr Joubert said, Our
association with India goes back to 1910 when we set up our
first manufacturing unit for motor in Kolkata. While India
moves ahead on its growth path, as one of the most dynamic
economies of the world, we are committed to provide the best in
class power generation technologies and equipment to our Indian
partners and customers. Our Vadodara facility built in the
1990s is one of the three largest Hydro Equipment
manufacturing facilities in the world. The other two are based
in Brazil and China. This facility has received fresh
investment of about USD 20 million with a scalable
manufacturing capacity that currently stands at 1500 MW per
annum.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sunand Sharma, Country
President, ALSTOM India, said, With the Vadodara
facility, ALSTOMs presence in Indian Hydro Market gets a
big boost. As one of the largest and most advanced Hydro
equipment manufacturing setups, providing complete solutions,
our expanded facility will serve Indian market needs.
Additionally, this facility will also serve as a source for
ALSTOMs Hydro generator components manufacturing needs
globally.

The unit employs 600 people and will supply the full range of
