With this OCC, the operation of the six main train lines
(lines A, B, C, D and F) will be managed from one single
location, built especially to house the system. Initially, lines
E and F will be migrated, which correspond to the east zone of
São Paulo. Lines B and C will follow by the end of 2006 and
in early 2007, the final lines A and D will complete the
system. In addition to the 26 operation sub-stations, 6 supervision
stations, 8 engineering and maintenance stations and 35
surveillance screens assembled in line to control traffic and
power, Alstom was also responsible for supplying all the
radio, telecomms, integration, and data transmission systems.
The main challenge of this important project was to
combine all lines and systems without stopping the operation. The
whole process was performed in an integrated way, with plenty of
synergy, without changing the regular functioning of the lines",
states Valter Ortega Garcia, project manager at Alstom.
