    Between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2012, Alstom booked €21.7 billion of orders, up 14% compared to last year. As announced, the fourth quarter was particularly strong with €6.6 billion of new contracts.

  • Alstom and the FSI are studying the acquisition of 85% of Translohr, a division of the Alsace-based Lohr group

    Alstom and the Fonds Stratégique d’Investissement (Strategic Investment Fund) are studying the joint purchase of 85% of Translohr, a Lohr group brand which specialises in the manufacture and marketing of tyre-based trams. Lohr SA, the parent company of the Lohr Industries group, would retain a 15% shareholding. The total amount of the deal would be around €60M.

    Alstom to supply 28 Coradia Continental regional trains to Deutsche Bahn

    Alstom Transport will manufacture 28 Coradia Continental regional trains for the German operator Deutsche Bahn Regio NRW GmbH. The contract is worth approximately €140 million . This is the first stage of the frame contract signed in 2011 with DB Regio for the delivery of up to 400 trains.

  • Alstom to design and test its ERTMS-based train control solution in Denmark

    Banedanmark, the Danish railway infrastructure owner, has awarded Alstom a contract worth around €25 million to design and test Atlas, its ERTMS/ETCS on-board Level 2 solution. This solution meets the latest ERTMS standard and will be potentially deployed on 789 trains, mainly non Alstom-made ones, operated by 41 Operators on the Fjerbane Danish network.

    AGV .italo welcomes its first passengers

    28 April 2012 - The AGV .italo has commenced commercial service on the high-speed Naples-Rome-Florence-Bologna-Milan line in Italy. The first day of service was an opportunity for private Italian operator NTV’s first passengers to enjoy the comfort and design of the AGV .italo.

    The AGV .italo made an inaugural run between Rome and Naples (Italy) with several journalists and NTV management aboard. The train left Rome, as planned, just before 10 o’clock and it arrived on time in Naples at 11.05.

    Marseilles-Frankfurt, direct with Euroduplex !

    Entry into revenue service of the new international Frankfurt–Marseilles connection is effective since 23 March. The Alstom very high-speed train Euroduplex will make two daily round-trips on this line. This is the first direct high-speed commercial service between the South of France and Frankfurt. It will be operated by the SNCF and the DB.

    The first tramset arrives in Le Havre !

    Shipped from the Alstom plant in La Rochelle several days earlier, the first of the 22 Citadis tramsets ordered by the city of Le Havre in July 2010 has just been delivered in the presence of Edouard Philippe, President of the Le Havre conurbation (CODAH). The tram will participate in the first tests on the tramway line scheduled to begin in March.

    First run on the new section of Paris’s T3 tramline

    The first of 25 Citadis tramsets that will begin operating on the new section of the T3 tramline (Porte d’Ivry – Porte de la Chapelle) by the end of the year made a debut appearance at Porte de Pantin (in Paris’s 19th arrondissement) where it was officially presented to the press by local elected officials and RATP management.
