Founded in 1998, Alstom Transport Italia has deep roots in the Italian railway tradition, thanks to the heritage of the historical brand it acquired: Sasib, Parizzi e Fiat Ferroviaria. And recently, through a majority shareholding, Cariboni.
Alstom Transport Italy is a world leader for high speed trains based on tilting technology. Known as Pendolino, more than 400 of them have been sold around the world. Alstom Transport Italia is also known for its capabilities in designing and producing railway signaling systems and traction systems.
With a turnover of 769 million Euros in the fiscal year 2009/2010, 8 sites in the country, and more than 2,700 employees, Alstom Transport Italia is a key player in the Italian railway market. But the company is also operating successfully in many foreign markets, with exports accounting for around 30% of its turnover.
Alstom Transport Italia design and manufactures rolling stock, components, signaling and infrastructures projects for railway transportation, from high speed trains, to signaling systems, from telecommunications to “turn key” projects for mainlines and tramways.
