Alstom monitors the safety performance of its contractors with the same ambition as for its own employees. Indeed, when it comes to severe accidents, the number of victims is higher among contractors.
Thanks to assessment and risk mitigation measures, in 2017/18 the frequency rate of lost-time injuries for employees and contractors was 1.0 on March 2018. This represents a decrease of more than 20% compared to the previous year, exceeding the Group's annual objectives and reaching the level set for the 2020 ambition.
More specifically :
- Lost-Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) – employees : 1,3
- Lost-Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) – contractors : 0,6
- Occupational Illness Frequency Rate (OIFR) : 0,65
Work safety remains an absolute priority across the Group.
