Alstom to deliver Australia’s first fully-automated rapid transit trains

Alstom will deliver Sydney’s new generation of rapid transit trains as part of the North West Rail Link, Australia’s first fully-automated rail network and Australia’s largest public transport project.

Alstom to supply 12 metro sets for Lines 2, 5 and 9 of the Paris metro

Alstom, working as part of a consortium with Bombardier Transport and AREVA TA, will be supplying STIF  (the Ile-de-France Transport Authority) and RATP  (the Paris-based public transport operator) with 12 new MF01  metro sets for lines 2 (Porte-Dauphine-Nation), 5 (Place d’Italie-Bobigny) and 9 (Pont de Sèvres-Mairie de Montreuil) of the Paris metro network. The project is worth around 75 million Euros. 

Alstom and Transmashholding to supply St. Petersburg’s first low-floor tram

Tramrus LLC, the joint venture of Alstom and its partner Transmashholding (TMH), has been awarded a contract by the St Petersburg transport operator in Russia to provide them with a low-floor tram by 1 December 2014. 

Alstom’s first locally assembled point machines delivered to Kazakhstan Railways

The first 30 point machines based on Alstom technology have been produced at JV KazElectroprivod, the 50/50 joint venture between Alstom and Kamkor located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. They were delivered to the Technical and Material Centre of the Kazakhstan Railways in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. This is the first batch assembled in the country, marking the start of local manufacturing.

Alstom to strengthen Scottish grid with sub synchronous oscillation monitoring

Alstom Grid has been awarded a contract by ScottishPower Energy Networks, the transmission and distribution network operator in Central and Southern Scotland, to strengthen Scottish grid with the provision of sub-synchronous oscillation monitoring and detection capabilities. This contract includes a grid monitoring and detection system for real-time early warning of sub-synchronous oscillations (SSO) and off-line analysis of system behaviour related to the physical effects of series compensation and HVDC systems on nearby generation units.

Alstom to supply the city of Strasbourg with 12 Citadis trams

Alstom has signed a framework agreement with the Communauté des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS, the Strasbourg Transport Company) for the supply of 50 Citadis trams. The first part of the agreement concerns an order for 12 trams, worth a total of 41 million euros. These are expected to enter service by the end of 2016.

New Tram named after Nottingham's boxing hero
