Alstom added another feather to its cap by successfully achieving the synchronization and full load of the two 55 MW units of the Chuzachen hydro power plant project located in east district of Sikkim on 24th April 2013.
Alstom and Japan Transport Engineering Company (J-TREC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly assess the light rail transit and tramway markets. This agreement will lead both companies to jointly contribute to the modernisation of existing tramway lines and the development of new lines in Japan.

Alstom presents new solutions and optimised technologies to implement the energy turnaround
On 18 June 2013, Alstom was selected by officials of the Greater Avignon Metropolitan Area to supply 24 Citadis Compact trams. The contract is worth about €45 million. Scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2016, Citadis Compact trams will travel on both lines of the future 14.5-kilometre network.

Hakan Karadoğan has been appointed as Alstom Grid Turkey Power Transformers Unit Managing Director. Alstom Grid Turkey has been manufacturing power transformers in Gebze site since the 1960s and exports 85% of its production. It is the Turkish export champion in the category of “Power Transmission and Distribution Equipment”.

Laurent Schmitt [1], Vice-President SmartGrids France, announced yesterday that the association will become a member of the Global Smart Grid Federation, an international consortium which brings together the major actors of the Smart Grid industrial sector.
Alstom, RTE and their partners announced the launch of the Smart Substations Project (Poste Eléctriques Intelligents), during the Smart Grids Paris exhibition, held 4th-6th June in Paris, France. The announcement was made in the presence of Delphine Batho, the French Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development & Energy. The Smart Substations Project is a world premiere, a precursor to the smart grids of the future and an important step on the road to the energy transition.

Alstom T&D India has concluded the successful delivery of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (PGCIL) 230 kV transmission project, worth around INR 1050 million (€15 million), in Myanmar.
The first of 20 multiple train units manufactured for PKP Intercity by Alstom will arrive for tests in Poland this year. Comfortable and safe trains will be operated starting from 2014. The trains will bring new quality on tracks and respond to the needs of various passenger groups – emphasised Janusz Malinowski, PKP Intercity President. On 28 May 2013, both companies presented the train appearance and facilities for passengers offered by the new Express InterCity Premium.
