Alstom Grid gained important insight from key customers to help understand how to better serve the energy control room community at the 22nd Annual North American Users Group Conference in Bellevue, WA.

Customers, industry experts and partners, along with Alstom representatives totalling over 250, gathered for the five day Users Group conference to explore whats new and important in the electric utility control center and pipeline SCADA markets. Alstom hosted a variety of experts who presented a wide range of topics from cyber security and market evolution, to a keynote address from futurist Glen Hiemstra, founder of futurist.com,  The Futurist Beyond 2020: The Shape of Things to Come.

The conference gave attendees the opportunity to participate in over 60 symposiums over seven tracks and take part in eight Special Interest Group (SIG) and three working group sessions to engage in discussions on their area of technical expertise. Alstoms technical symposiums showcased ongoing development efforts with interactive products demonstrations and displays.  During the final days of the conference customers gave their feedback through Software Improvement Requests (SIRs) which help Alstom developers improve products to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

This year Alstom Grid further integrated its recent acquisitions (UISOL, Psymetrix and EvolutionSCADA) into the Users Group agenda. Working Groups on the topics of Demand Response (UISOL) and Oil & Gas (EvolutionSCADA) were added to the line-up.  WAMS (Wide Area Management Systems) and Online Stability Solutions (Psymetrix) were highlighted in a panel session, Implementation of PMU Psynchrophaser WAMS to Ehance EMS. In addition, all the latest acquired technology and talent were featured in several symposiums.
