The Coradia Lint regional multiple units for the Cologne Diesel Network and for the RB47 have been homologated by the German Federal Railway Authority (Eisenbahnbundesamt - EBA). As a result, the 9 trains for Abellio and the 56 trains for the Cologne Diesel Network operated by Deutsche Bahn can now be taken into passenger operation as quickly as possible.

"We are proud that we have successfully completed the homologation of the vehicles together with the EBA in 2013. Together with the operators, all of our efforts are now focused on completing the acceptance inspections of the first vehicles before the end of the calendar year. We are extremely confident that the constructive cooperation with all of our project partners will continue to bear fruit in the future", says Dr Martin Lange, as member of the board of Alstom Germany responsibility for Transport.

In mid-2011, Deutsche Bahn ordered 56 Coradia Lint regional trains from Alstom with a combined order value of around 325 million. The two- and three-unit trains (Lint 54 and 81) are intended for use in the Cologne and Eifel region, the so-called "Cologne Diesel Network". In 2011, Alstom was also awarded a contract by Abellio to supply nine regional multiple units of the type Coradia Lint 41/H. These two-unit vehicles represent an order value of around 30 million and will be used on the RB47 service for the 41-kilometre route from Wuppertal to Solingen via Remscheid.

Since 2000, Alstom has sold 760 Coradia Lint regional multiple units. The trains are developed and manufactured by Alstom in Salzgitter.
