From 26th to 28th of June Alstom participated in the international exhibition Atomexpo-2013. Over the 5 years of its existence, Atomexpo has become one of the key international meeting points for the exchange of views between the leading international experts of the nuclear industry. This year the exhibition was held at Mikhailovsky Manege in St. Petersburg.

Traditionally, the Alstom technologies were showcased at the Alstom-Atomenergomash JV's booth (AAEM). Small in size - just 28 m2, but very imaginatively designed (like a conventional island of a nuclear power plant), the AAEM's booth was linked to the Atomenergomash's one by a luminous tube, which emphasized the close ties with our Russian partner. The Head of "Rosatom" Sergey Kirienko and the General Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukia Amano visited the AAEM's booth during a VIP tour. Alstom was represented by the top management of our nuclear business, including its SVP Patrick Fragman.

On the opening day Alstom organized a cocktail on the AAEM's booth for around 30 Russian customers and partners. High-level representatives of "Rosatom" and "Atomenergomash" attended this event as well.

During the Atomexpo forum, held in parallel with the exhibition, the AAEM Development Director Renaud Blech delivered a speech devoted to "The ARABELLETM Technology in VVER-TOI Project: International Nuclear Market Opportunities". Visitors could clearly get acquainted with this technology by themselves, since a new dynamic model of the steam turbine ARABELLE, purposely brought for this year's "Atomexpo" from France, was installed at the AAEM's booth. We would remind that the Alstom half-speed steam turbines under the poetic name ARABELLE, the most powerful and reliable of the existing steam turbines for the nuclear power plants in the world for the past 10 years, will be manufactured in Russia at one of the "Atomenergomash" facilities situated in Volgodonsk (South of Russia).
