Alstom rents Antonov AN 225 to transport customer equipment

In order to satisfy a customer requirement, Alstom has rented the Antonov AN 225 the largest civil aircraft in the world to transport customer equipment form Zurich to Bahrain. 

The load comprises a GT13E2 gas turbine rotor, a turbo generator rotor and additional equipment for a total weight of some 170 tons. The plane which has never landed at Zurich Airport before arrived on 24 September 2013 around 14.30 hours for a 24 hour stop-over to allow for a safe loading of the equipment.
