Alstom will present its latest innovative and sustainable transport solutions at the 11th World Congress on Railway Research (WCRR), which will take place at Rho Fiera (MI), Stella Polare Convention Centre from 29th May to 1st June.

The visitors of the Alstom stand located at S2 on the ground floor will experience a live connection to the control room in use at Alstoms site in Sesto San Giovanni for the maintenance of regional trains. The control room is the brain that remotely monitors the health of 250 regional trains in real time using TrainTracer and the HealthHub platform, previously only used to monitor high-speed trains. This guarantees timely and efficient predictive maintenance as well as increased availability of trains for passengers.

Alstom will also participate to the congress programme and other collateral events of this 11th edition of the WCRR.

  • On 30th May at 2 p.m. in Sagittarius Hall on the mezzanine floor, Alstom will present Hesop 1500V Reversible Traction Power Substation as part of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability session. Hesop is an advanced power-supply substation which allows to recover more than 99% of the available energy produced by a train during braking and return it to the electricity network for re-use.
  • From 30th May to 1st June, Alstom will exhibit at the close-by depot in Fiorenza (MI) its regional train Coradia Meridian Jazz, made for Trenitalia and already in service in nine Italian regions. The visitors will also discover Ecopack, an Alstom solution for storing energy that revolutionises the way in which the consumption of tram systems is managed.
  • On 1st June, a special factory tour will be organised at Alstoms Sesto San Giovanni site.
