ALSTOM wins orders for steam turbine generator sets worth around 180 million Euros

ALSTOM has won orders, together worth around 180 million
euros, to supply steam turbine generator sets for power
projects in Brazil, Mexico, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates
(UAE).

In Brazil, ALSTOM Power will supply EPC contractor, Bechtel
International Inc., with a 160 MW steam turbine generator set.
ALSTOM Power will also supervise erection and commissioning and
provide on-site training. Construction will begin in December
2001, with commercial operation scheduled for November
2002.

ALSTOM Power is also supplying Bechtel with a 290 MW steam
turbine generator set for Intergen's combined cycle power plant
in La Rosita, Mexico. In addition, ALSTOM Power will supervise
the erection and commissioning and provide on-site training.
Construction will begin in November 2001, with commercial
operation scheduled for November 2002.

Five steam turbine generator sets will be delivered the
joint venture company, Bechtel Enka, EPC contractor for three
power plants at Gebze, Adapazari and Izmir. Construction is
scheduled to begin in February 2001 at Gebze, in April at
Adapazari and in August 2001 at Izmir.

In the UAE, ALSTOM Power is supplying Babcock Borsig Power
Energy with 3 steam turbine generator sets for the Taweelah
plant. Construction will begin by mid-November 2000, with units
1 and 2 scheduled to enter commercial operation at the end of
October 2002, and unit 3 in April 2003.
