Send an email31 January 2024 - Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, and Graz Linien met today for the official signing of the contract and design presentation of the Flexity trams for the Styrian capital. The contract for the purchase and maintenance of 15 Flexity trams was concluded in May 2023 and was officially signed today in the presence of the Graz city government. With the new Flexity trams, Graz is in good company: a total of around 2,000 Flexity vehicles have been sold worldwide to date and are being operated successfully - including in Vienna, Linz and Innsbruck. The new Flexitys will be manufactured by Alstom in Vienna, meaning that a significant proportion of the added value will remain in Austria.

World's lowest access height and capacity expansion

Our Flexity low-floor trams are exactly the right product for the Styrian capital and an attractive, climate-friendly mobility offer. With the world's lowest boarding height of 215 mm and a stepless interior, the tram is 100% barrier-free." At 33.81 metres, the new Flexity trams from Alstom are six metres longer than the trams currently in operation in Graz and have a 30% higher passenger capacity. Optimised for transport capacity and rapid passenger changes, the Flexity trams will make an important contribution to relieving congestion in Graz city centre. Production of the 15 Flexity vehicles will start at the end of this year.
