Coradia Stream regional train

Coradia Stream is a state-of-the-art, low-floor, high-performance electric multiple unit (EMU) which meets today’s demands of regional & intercity transport. While the range continues to offer specific technical configurations adapted to the needs of each operator, a drive to improve standardisation has delivered a single, versatile platform on which to build both regional and intercity trains.

A modular train

The new trains offer a modular design to allow operators to choose the configuration and interior that work best for their market and commercial strategy. Coradia Stream provides different areas dedicated for instance to business, corner shop, vending area or simply to silence or socialising. In order to meet passengers’ changing needs, seat arrangements can be modified and areas can be adapted. The different interior layouts allow for different type of luggage and bicycle racks.

Optimal passenger experience

Accessibility is a major factor thanks to wide doors, low-floor access, sliding steps to bridge the gap between the train and the platform and optimised fluidity onboard. Modern on-board information and entertainment systems can be provided to guarantee passengers’ greater comfort, safety and travel quality.

Weight reduction & energy savings

The option to compose a Coradia Stream train with longer cars means less weight and less energy per passenger, as well as less maintenance cost. Aluminium carbody shell and concentrated traction as well as other improvements of the train architecture allow for additional weight and energy consumption reduction.

A single platform for both intercity and regional trains

Coradia Stream bogies, traction systems, brakes and other subsystems can be used either for Regional train running at a maximum speed of 160 km/h or for intercity train running at a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The interior can be adapted to either regional or intercity requirements. Rail operators can choose similar trains for different applications.
