Country President's Message

“Shaping the future”Adil Tekin

This statement, which in a way is the motto of Alstom, clearly expresses what we do. The outcome of our work is not only reflected on the current times but also influences the lives of future generations. Such awareness, no doubt, comes with the responsibility for us to be the best in what we do.

Founded in 1928 in France, Alstom operates in many countries all over the world from America to Europe, from the Middle East to Asia. We finally brought the profound and long-established experience of Alstom to Turkey in the 1950s.
We have undertaken many projects making the lives of millions of people easier since our very first day in Turkey.

We have contributed to the lives of millions through our sectors providing their services in the fields of power generation (Power), power transmission (Grid) and rail infrastructure (Transport).

We provided the very first metro multiple unit of the first metro line in Istanbul connecting Taksim and Levent. We were working there for the infrastructure of that metro line…

We manufactured the world’s largest electrical arc furnace transformer…

We supplied the key equipment for over 50% of the total installed power generation capacity of Turkey…

We supplied the boilers or the steam turbines for over 50% of the coal power plants…

Alstom, as one of the most active actors in the world, as far as wind turbines are concerned, came up with engineering inventions modernizing the wind turbines and we introduced them to Turkey…

Last but not least is the fact that our transformer factory started in 1966 in Gebze, has eventually turned today into one of the largest and most modern high voltage factories in the world. By exporting 85% of our total production from that factory to all over the world, we are creating added value for the Turkish economy…

Thanks to the constant growth we have enjoyed in our three lines of business, we were no longer limited by Turkey and the regional HQs were relocated to here…

We are now enjoying the pride we deserve in the fact that Turkey has become a cornerstone in the region and we are the export champions in the field of power transmission.

Motivated by the level of success we have reached so far, we work on new projects and carry on “shaping the future” with all of our colleagues together.

Adil Tekin
President, Alstom Turkey
