    • Alstom’s orders in Q1 2014/15 boosted by rail contract in South Africa


      From 1 April to 30 June 2014, Alstom booked €8.2 billion orders, twice the level of the first quarter last year. This record performance derives essentially from a contract with PRASA in South Africa booked in Transport for around €4 billion, as well as a good flow of orders in Renewable Power and Grid.

    • Alstom will supply 127 wind turbines to Renova Energia for the Umburanas wind farm complex


      Alstom has signed with Renova Energia, leader in wind power generation in Brazil, a contract totalling around €320 million , to deliver, erect and commission 127 wind turbines, in the wind complex Umburanas, located in Bahia State.

      Alstom, BrightSource Energy, and Noy Infrastructure and Energy Fund close financing for Israel’s largest solar power plant


      Megalim Solar Power Ltd (Megalim) - a special purpose company formed by Alstom (25.05%), BrightSource (25.05%), and NOY Infrastructure & Energy Investment Fund (49,9%) - obtained the financing of the European Investment Bank and the Bank Hapoalim for the construction and operation of the Ashalim Thermal Solar Power Station in Israel.

      Alstom to supply 36 units of ECO 122 wind turbines for Trairí II project


      Alstom signed a contract worth around 120 million euros with Tractebel Energia Brasil, the largest private power generator in Brazil, to supply 36 units of ECO 122 wind turbines to Trairí II project, a wind farm located in Ceará State, Northeast of Brazil. The commissioning of Trairí project is scheduled for mid-2016 and will generate 97.2MW.

    • Alstom Board of Directors recommends General Electric’s offer


      The ad hoc committee of independent directors appointed by the Board on April 29, 2014 and led by Jean-Martin Folz, thoroughly reviewed, on multiple occasions, the proposed transactions. Based on the works of the committee and financial and legal advisors, the Board of Directors has unanimously decided to issue a positive recommendation of the offer from GE.

      Alstom to introduce three major innovations at the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin


      Alstom Transport will be at InnoTrans, the largest trade fair for the railway industry, to be held in Berlin, Germany from 23 to 26 September 2014. On this occasion, Alstom will introduce three major innovations: the very latest version of its Citadis tram, a predictive maintenance tool, and new versions of the Atlas range, its ERTMS solution.

    • Alstom will supply and upgrade generators for Harjavalta hydro power plant in Finland


      Alstom signed a contract with Länsi-Suomen Voima Oy, owner of the 72 MW Harjavalta hydro power plant, to retrofit and upgrade two existing generators and provide one new generator, for a total amount of more than 10 M€.

      First Alstom’s Pendolino high speed train of the new series delivered on time


      The first of a total of eight Alstom’s Pendolino ETR 610 trains ordered by the Swiss operator, SBB, in July 2012 left Savigliano manufacturing plant in Italy today, in accordance with the planned schedule. At its arrival, the train – which has already obtained the type homologation for Switzerland – will pass the last dynamic tests. Two trains are scheduled to be handed over to SBB by the end of 2014.

      On Thursday 15 May 2014, the ground-breaking ceremony for the onshore converter station takes place at the Dörpen West site in Heede, Germany, with representatives of Transmission System Operator TenneT, contractor Alstom and the mayors of the joint municipalities of Dörpen and Heede taking part, together with local and regional politicians and public figures.

      Between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2014, Alstom booked €21.5 billion of orders, down 10% compared to last year. Sales, at €20.3 billion, showed a 4% organic growth compared to last year. Income from operations amounted to €1,424 million, down 3%, with a 7% operating margin.
