ALSTOM has signed a seven-year long-term service agreement (LTSA) worth around 70 million euros for the Lumut power plant in Segari in the state of Perak, Malaysia. The agreement was signed with plant operator Teknik Janakuasa Sdn. Bhd. (TJSB), the wholly owned O&M subsidiary company of Malaysias largest independent power producer, Malakoff Berhad.

The agreement comprises the exclusive supply of new hot gas path components for all major inspections and provision of reconditioning services over the term of the contract, which will ensure the efficient and economic operation and maintenance of the plants nine GT13E2 gas turbine units. In addition, TJSB has the option to implement ALSTOMs latest gas turbine upgrades, which offer the customer increased operational flexibility.

The Lumut power plant has three combined-cycle KA13E2-3 blocks running on natural gas, with oil as the back-up fuel. With a total electricity output of 1943 MW, it is ALSTOMs largest GT13E2-based power plant in the world.

The awarding of this contract reflects TJSBs confidence in ALSTOMs OEM support, which will ensure continued safe operation, reliable service and high availability of the Lumut power plant.
