Train operations for all types of fleets

Our FlexCare Operate solutions include manually driven and fully automated solutions for both Alstom and non-Alstom assets, with train drivers and crew, operations control centre, cleaning, train control and dispatching, as well as scheduling and timetable optimisation. To ensure the most seamless passenger experience, we provide ticketing and station management, as well as customer service. Alstom also offers various consultation and support services for operators including shadow operations, mobilisation and operation support.

Signalling, telecommunication, and rail infrastructure maintenance

Alstom provides signalling and telecommunication maintenance services to improve availability and ensure continuous safe operation of the railway system. HealthHub™ signalling, an Alstom solution for predictive maintenance, transforms data acquired and analysed from the network into actionable information for the user, to ensure maintenance is efficient and effective. We also provide maintenance solutions for train tracks, traction and auxiliary substations, and electrification systems, as well as for fixed facilities, such as train stations and services centres, and civil infrastructure.

Alstom offers simulators for both train operations and maintenance training, providing customers with an immersive and realistic training environment for employees. Our eTraining solutions cover all aspects of rolling stock and rail systems, including driving, maintenance, infrastructure and depot management.

Alstom also offers digital solutions to enhance passenger experience and provide real-time travel information, including next generation information, infotainment and entertainment systems, and high-speed internet access.

  • Manual operation and maintenance for GO Transit, Canada

    Alstom delivers operations and maintenance for GO Transit in Ontario. Starting with fleet maintenance in 1997, operations and customer service were added in 2008. Scope includes train operations, customer service and maintenance of over 90 locomotives, 980 coaches and 18 DMUs. On‑time delivery: 99.8% in November 2022.

  • Automated operation and maintenance for Cairo monorail, Egypt

    In 2019, an Alstom‑led consortium signed to design, build, operate and maintain two Innovia™ monorail lines: a 57 km link to the New Administrative City and a 42 km line from West of Nile to Giza. After construction, the consortium will provide 30 years of O&M for both lines.

  • Automated operation and maintenance for AirTrain at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, USA

    Alstom has operated and maintained JFK AirTrain since 2003, with a five‑year renewal in 2019. The scope includes 24/7 train operations and passenger assistance, fleet maintenance, and upkeep of tracks, power, signalling, stations and platforms.

  • Manual operation and maintenance for Edmonton LRV, Canada

    In 2016, as part of TransEd Partners, Alstom won a contract for Edmonton’s Valley Line LRT, providing 30 years of operations and maintenance. Alstom ensures top safety, service, punctuality and fleet reliability, covering vehicles, signalling, power, catenary and depot equipment.

  • Manual operation and maintenance for SunRail, USA

    In 2013, Alstom began operating and maintaining 20 BiLevel cars for SunRail in Florida. In 2019, its O&M team delivered a $10M crossing rehabilitation project, rebuilding 54 crossings across three counties in 20 months, four months early, with zero lost‑time incidents.

  • Automated operation and maintenance for Frankfurt Airport’s SkyLine system, Germany

    Since 1994, Alstom has provided operations and maintenance for the airport’s 1.9 km dual-line system, including 18 Innovia™ automated people mover 100 two-car trains. In 2020, a new contract was signed to operate and maintain the Frankfurt Airport’s automated people mover system for an additional 10 years.

  • Automated operation and maintenance services for Los Angeles International Airport, USA

    In 2018, Alstom and partners won the contract to deliver an Innovia™ automated people mover for LAX. Built via a public‑private partnership - the first of its kind in the U.S. - Alstom will lead the joint venture providing 25 years of operations and maintenance once construction is complete.

  • Manual operation and maintenance for MARC, USA

    Since 2012, Alstom has delivered operations and maintenance for MARC in the Baltimore/Washington area. Extended to 2028, the contract covers customer service, revenue management, fleet, station and facility maintenance, plus material and infrastructure support. Fleet on‑time performance exceeds 99%.

  • Automated operation and maintenance for Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport system, Spain

    Alstom delivered the Innovia™ APM to Madrid‑Barajas Airport, Spain’s first fully automatic transit system, linking T4 and T4S. Alstom has operated and maintained it since its 2006 opening, with the contract renewed in 2013 for 10 more years.
