The contract - which came into force at the beginning of
December - was awarded by Metro d’Alger to the TramNour
consortium comprising Alstom Transport and its Spanish partner
Isolux Corsan.

Isolux Corsan - which manages the consortium - is responsible
for the civil engineering, track, engineering and catenary for
the 18.7 kilometres of line and the 32 stations. Alstom will
supply 30 Citadis tramsets, the operating system (signalling
and telecommunications) and the equipment for the depot and
sub-stations.

The tramway is due to be completed in 26 months’ time, a
relatively short deadline which means the partners will need to
show strong anticipation and great coordination. Isolux and
Alstom have already worked together on the Barcelona tramway
and several high-speed lines in Spain.
