Alstom named one of Hong Kong’s Top Employers 2022

  • Second consecutive win testament to prioritising the employee experience especially during the pandemic

8 February 2022 – Alstom has received the Top Employer 2022 certification in Hong Kong SAR for the second consecutive year. It has also been recognised together with Australia, China, India and Singapore in the Asia Pacific region.

Alstom, the leader in smart, sustainable mobility, has been responding to the growing demand for greener, more modern railway fleets and equipment with optimised capacity in Hong Kong for over 40 years. Currently delivering projects such as re-signalling works for four MTR lines[1], upgrade of track circuit[2] system, as well as delivery and installation of SACEM[3] train-borne signalling equipment on new trains, the Company is committed to maintaining a healthy and motivated workforce.

“This certification reaffirms years of effort by Alstom to provide our people with greater purpose at work and pride in what they do, foster a culture of fairness and respect, and support their aspirations. We are proud to be recognised not only as one of Hong Kong but also the world’s best working environments once again.”

“This certification reaffirms years of effort by Alstom to provide our people with greater purpose at work and pride in what they do, foster a culture of fairness and respect, and support their aspirations. We are proud to be recognised not only as one of Hong Kong but also the world’s best working environments once again,” said Olivier Loison, Managing Director for Alstom in East Asia.

The past two years have highlighted the importance of addressing holistic employee well-being for many organisations. But the concept of a quality and happy work environment, with a focus on employees’ overall wellness, has long taken root at Alstom in Hong Kong since its inception.

Having pledged to the Joyful@Healthy Workplace Charter since 2021 initiated by the Occupational Safety and Health Council, the Labour Department and the Department of Health, the Company continues to encourage employee health and wellness. This includes organising mental health talks and team building activities virtually throughout the year to keep the Hong Kong team engaged. Employees could also rally colleagues for a charitable cause outside of work by taking up to one day of volunteer leave per year. During the pandemic, paid vaccination leave, flexible work arrangements and even digital onboarding have been offered.

At the same time, Alstom’s efforts in enhancing the retirement benefits of its Hong Kong employees and promoting corporate volunteerism have not gone unnoticed as the Government has recognised the Company with several award wins including the Mandatory Provident Fund Authority of Hong Kong’s Good MPF Employer Award (2021) and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service’s Caring Company (2018 – 2021).
