13 June 2025 – Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has been awarded the official ‘Made in Mexico’ label, a distinction granted by the Mexican Ministry of Economy that recognizes its commitment to the national industry and, notably, to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, particularly Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). This recognition highlights Alstom’s contribution to cleaner, more inclusive, and resilient mobility, while strengthening the country’s industrial network.

"With a history of more than 70 years in Mexico, Alstom has established itself as a key player in both the national and international rail sectors. “With a history of more than 70 years in Mexico, Alstom has established itself as a key player in both national and international rail sectors. Through our site in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo, we have developed robust manufacturing capabilities that allow us not only to serve the domestic market, but also to export trains, carbodies, and components around the world,” said Maite Ramos, Managing Director of Alstom Mexico and North LAM. “This distinction reflects our commitment to the country, to local economic development, and to the industrial excellence that enables us to compete globally."
Receiving the Made in Mexico label underscores the quality, innovation, and technological capacity of the products manufactured by Alstom within the country. Key export projects include the production of trains for transportation systems in the United States, Canada, as well as in Europe and Asia, consolidating Mexico as a strategic hub for world-class rail manufacturing.
With this certification, Alstom reaffirms its role as a strategic partner in Mexico’s sustainable transformation, driving next-generation rail solutions that create a positive impact on communities, the environment, and the country’s urban development, while also promoting economic growth, specialized employment, and the transfer of technology to Mexican talent.
