Trápaga, 8 April 2026 – Alstom has appointed Iñaki Rojo as the new Managing Director of Alstom’s industrial site in Trápaga, Bizkaia. In his new role, Iñaki will lead operations at the Biscayan site, which specialises in the development and manufacture of traction equipment for all types of trains. He will lead the site’s industrial and technological development and further strengthen its contribution to Alstom projects worldwide. He also joins Alstom Spain’s Management Committee.
A graduate in Industrial Engineering from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of Bilbao, Iñaki Rojo has developed most of his professional career in the rail sector since joining Bombardier Transportation in 2002. Since then, he has held various positions of responsibility—first at Bombardier Transportation and later at Alstom—both locally and internationally. He has taken on leadership roles in the areas of Quality, Human Resources and Continuous Improvement, coordinating teams and activities across several countries in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. For the past 10 years, he has served as Quality Director of the Trápaga industrial site.
The Trápaga site plays a key role within the Alstom Group’s global industrial network and is one of the company’s main traction equipment manufacturing centres in Europe. Covering an area of 45,000 m², the Biscayan facility supplies propulsion and electric traction systems for all types of railway applications across the full power range, including traction systems for all kinds of trains: locomotives, high-speed, regional and suburban trains, metros, monorails and trams.
