Sweden’s rail sector: a catalyst for local growth

In 2024/2025, our operations in Sweden generated a powerful ripple effect across the national economy: 

  • 3,084 jobs were supported through direct, indirect and induced employment, thereby supporting families, communities, and future talent.
  • We contributed 1,425 million SEK to Sweden’s GDP, with 928 million SEK from indirect activities and 506 million SEK from induced effects.
  • Alstom purchased goods and services worth 3.898 million SEK, with 66.5% sourced from 655 Swedish suppliers, demonstrating our strong local footprint and commitment to regional partnerships.
