Hesop: Advanced reversible power substation

Saving energy and boosting efficiency

Alstom's Hesop is a cutting-edge reversible power substation designed to facilitate traction voltage supply to a network while recovering braking energy from vehicles. Whether it is retrofitting an existing system or constructing a new network, Hesop can be seamlessly integrated for maximum benefits.

With our expertise in energy, Hesop exhibits dynamic voltage regulation that adapts to the ever-changing power supply needed by the network. Notably, Hesop can smoothly scale up power supply requirements whenever traffic increases, without additional infrastructure changes. Furthermore, Hesop captures over 99% of recoverable braking energy, redirecting it into the power grid for resale or repurposing it for station facilities, including escalators, lighting, and ventilation. With Hesop, significant cost savings and energy efficiency are easily achievable.

Cost saving

Hesop's increased efficiency enables wider substation spacing, reducing capital expenditure. Additionally, it recovers braking energy, lowering operating costs, while reducing train heat dissipation, decreasing the need for Air Conditioning or ventilation in tunnels and passenger stations.
