The traditional Alstom site in Vienna is a global competence centre for trams and light rail vehicles and employs around 800 people who cover the entire value chain - from initial customer contact to development, assembly, component production and maintenance after the vehicles have been put into operation for our customers all over the world.

As a long-standing global market leader in the field of trams and light rail vehicles, our vehicles are in use in numerous cities around the world - including Manchester, Istanbul, Gold Coast and in all Austrian capitals, including Vienna, of course.

Alstom is also successful in Austria with products for signalling technology and in the mainline railway sector. From equipping long-distance vehicles with the European Train Control System (ETCS) to Traxx locomotives, customers rely on Alstom.

  • Alstom Austria assumes responsibility for society, diversity and the environment and focuses on sustainability along the entire value chain. This corporate responsibility is a crucial part of every business decision.

To underline our commitment to diversity and equality, we have signed the Diversity Charter (German: Charta der Vielfalt). The Diversity Charter is an initiative to promote respect for all members of society - regardless of gender, age, origin and skin color, sexual orientation, religion and world view, or physical or mental disability. The initiative is led by the Austrian Economic Chambers.
