ALSTOM to supply new trams and maintenance

Under the terms of the contracts, ALSTOM will provide 31
CITADIS tramsets, plus five on option. ALSTOM will also be
responsible for maintaining the new fleet over 15 years. The full
low-floor CITADIS 300 vehicles will measure 23m in length,
operate at 70 km/hour and carry up to 197 passengers. The first
delivery is set for the end of September 2001.

This order represents a new success for ALSTOM's
family of CITADIS trams. To date, more than 300 tramsets have
been ordered by cities including Montpellier, Orléans,
Lyons, Valenciennes, Bordeaux and Paris in France, and by Dublin
(Ireland) and Rotterdam (Netherlands).
