ALSTOM has won a turnkey order worth around 120 million
euros to supply 4x25 MW geothermal power plants to Mexican
utility, Comision Federal de Electricidad.

The plants will be located in Los Azufres, Michoacan state,
and will convert energy from underground water, heated by magma
to very high temperatures, into electricity.

The order, which underlines ALSTOM's position as a
full-range supplier of power generation services and equipment,
forms part of the Mexican government's programme to increase
the country's overall power generation capacity using
geothermal sources.

ALSTOM recently signed two major contracts in Mexico: for
the second phase of the 460 MW Tamuin coal-fired power plant,
and for the extension of the Chicoasen hydro power plant near
Tuxtla Guiterrez. The Company is also constructing three large
gas turbine combined cycle plants in the country.

ALSTOM is the global specialist in energy and transport
infrastructure. The company serves the energy market through
its activities in the fields of power generation, power
transmission and distribution, power conversion and electrical
contracting and the transport market through its activities in
rail and marine.

Following the full integration of the power generation
activities, ALSTOM today has annual sales in excess of
20 billion and employs approximately 140,000 people
