The Opening Ceremony for ChinaRail 2001 took place on 26
September 2001 in Beijing, before many dignitaries. Mr Wan
Guoquan, the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Peoples
Political Consultative Conference, the Vice Minister of the
Ministry of Railways, Mr. Yongfu Sun, the Vice Minister of the
Ministry of Construction, Mr. Baojiang Zhao and the Former Vice
Minister of the Ministry of Railways and President of China
Railway Society, Mr. Lin Guo attended the ceremony and were
welcomed on ALSTOMs stand by Thierry Best, President of
ALSTOM Transport China.
During the three days, more than 350 persons visited our
stand.They came from the whole of China, especially from the
Ministry of Railways, the national Railway Bureaux, the China
Academy of Railway Science, many Chinese railway factories,
several metro or light rail transit companies, a lot of railway
or urban transport institutes and railway universities.
Some 50 people participated in ALSTOMs technical
seminar on metros, tilting trains and signaling systems.
