Shanghai Mass Transit awarded the 25.8 million euro contract
to ALSTOM on November 11. Casco Signal Ltd., the ALSTOMs
joint venture with the China National Railway Signal &
Communication Corp., will carry out a significant portion of the
work in China.
ALSTOM has been a key contributor to the development of
Shanghais metro, supplying its METROPOLIS trains as well
as URBALIS for Line 3. The first train for Line 3 entered into
commercial service on November 6.
With more than 35 product lines and a presence in over 60
countries, ALSTOM's Transport Sector offers cutting-edge

urban transit authorities and operators; intercity passenger
rail operators and rolling stock owners; rail freight
operators; and intercity railway infrastructure owners.
