ALSTOM consortium wins signalling and telecommunication
project in Vietnam

ALSTOM’s share of the contract amounts to 3.9 million
euros and will include the modernisation of 3 stations on
Hanoi-Vinh section with interlocking and track side equipment,
respectively from ALSTOM Smartlock and Smartway technology for
train protection, including the supply of spare parts.

A training programme in France will also be provided for
Vietnam Railways Signaling Engineers.

ALCATEL-CIT will supply 320km of optical fibres, PABX telephone
exchange and a dedicated railway telephone system.

This contract forms part of Vietnam Railways’
investment in the infrastructure upgrading on this main line
which carries 9 million passengers per year. The remaining 30
stations on the Hanoi-Vinh section will be equipped in a second
phase of work.
