ALSTOM is supplying 113 CORADIA Duplex cars to SJ. These will
be the first CORADIA double-deck EMU trains to operate in Sweden
and there, on the stand, was a full-size feasibility mock-up of
the front car.

Mr Forsberg explained the innovative process by which SJ chose
the Duplex trains. The results of SJ's upstream customer research
were integrated into the tender specifications and shaped their
choice of train. SJ is undergoing a true change of corporate
culture to become a modern service provider.

'ALSTOM, within the double-deck project,' said Mr
Forsberg,
'is a real team partner for satisfying the requirements of
our passengers'
.

During this official opening ceremony, the partnership was
evoked once again as Mr Forsberg and Mr Moreau joined forces to
pull a cord and reveal the sleek silver-grey livery of the train.

'Working together, meeting the challenge !' was the theme of their successful collaboration, they told
the Official InnoTrans Delegation, in the presence of the German
Transport Minister, Mr Bodewig. Visitors to the stand were
invited to explore the modern but homey interior and see for
themselves just what Swedish passengers require of their
trains.
