ALSTOM has been awarded a turn-key contract from Eskilstuna
Energi & Miljö Elnät AB to build a new
transformer station outside the city of Eskilstuna in Sweden.
The order value is 4,7 million Euro.

The new station will be built under the existing 130 kV
overhead lines at Grönsta, 3 kilometers east of
Eskilstuna. It is primarily aimed at serving the city´s
growing demand for reliable supply of electricity.

Under the turnkey contract, ALSTOM's Transmission and
Distribution (T&D) Sector will deliver 130 kV switchgear,
two 40 MVA 130/10 kV transformers, control equipment, 10 kV
switchgear as well as civil works. Refurbishment of the
existing 130 kV station is also included.

'This is one of the largest switchgear contracts in Sweden
during the last year', says Magnus Jonasson, MD of ALSTOM
T&D in Sweden. 'The contract is a tribute to the
performance of our products and our very competent network of
suppliers. Further more, we have successfully served the
Swedish market, under different names, for more than 100
years.'

'This represents a very important investment for us,
considering the number of recent and future business
establishments in Eskilstuna. Consequently, we chose ALSTOM, a
reliable supplier in which we have full confidence', says Lars
Andersson, MD of Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö AB.

ALSTOM T&D AB, with headquarters in Västerås,
is responsible for station design and project management.
High-voltage equipment will be supplied from ALSTOM´s
European production facilities, whilst medium-voltage
switchgear will be manufactured by ALSTOM in Sweden.
