ALSTOM to highlight CORADIA regional trains and Switch
Machine MET at Nordic Rail 2003

The highlight of the ALSTOM stand will be the CORADIA range
focused on single and double-deckers (electric and diesel), and
the ALSTOM Switch Machine MET – an example of which will be
displayed on the stand.

ALSTOM has recently signed a frame contract with Banverket,
the Swedish Railway Infrastructures Authority, for the supply of
an innovative switch machine named ALSTOM MET. Benefits of the
MET solution are the extreme ease of installation and the
dramatic reduction of maintenance costs of the switch machine
itself as well as reduced track-maintenance costs.

ALSTOM-built trains and equipment are already in successful
commercial service on Swedish railways for another customer: the
Arlanda Express, a high-speed train linking Stockholm Central
Station and Arlanda Airport.
