ALSTOM wins order for air pollution control system in Germany

ALSTOM has received an order from the Stadtwerke Neumünster (Municipality of Neumünster) to supply the flue gas cleaning system for the Thermische Ersatzbrennstoff-Verwertungsanlage (TEV) incineration plant. The engineering for the plant has already started.

Stadtwerke Neumünster is responsible for the whole energy, water and district heating supply as well as the waste-landfill in the area. The new TEV plant belongs to a new generation of plants where pre-sorted, high calorific waste will be fired with a capacity of at about 20 tonnes per hour.

ALSTOM will deliver a full turnkey installation of a Novel Integrated Desulphurisation (NID) flue gas cleaning process from boiler outlet to stack outlet, including auxiliary systems. The installation will be operational mid-2005. The flue gas cleaning systems will be required to reduce emissions by approximately 50% to 17.BimSchV and below. 

Ideal for new and retrofit installations, NID technology is an uncomplicated, cost-effective desulphurisation system that provides high performance and easy access while requiring minimum space and maintenance.

An important factor for ALSTOM in winning this contract was their ability to demonstrate a wide range of experience in flue gas cleaning.
