ALSTOM at the Indian Railway Equipment Exhibition
2003

Minister of Industry & Trade from Czech Republic Jiri
Rusnok inaugurated the exhibition where Chairman Indian Railway
Board IIMS Rana and Members of the Railway Board were also
present. They all visited the ALSTOM stand, welcomed by Transport
Sector MD, Chander Bansal.

ALSTOM displayed products being used by Indian Railways like
Point Machines, Audio Frequency Track Circuits (AFTC) and Vacuum
Circuit Breakers (VCB). The visuals and panels depicting ALSTOM's
experience in the design and manufacture of High Speed Trains,
turnkey Traction & Signaling projects, Signaling expertise,
ERTMS etc., evinced a lot of interest and appreciation. Minister
of State for Railways Mr. A K Moorthy, Senior officials from
Railway Board, Research Design and Standards Oraganisation
(RDSO), Zonal Railways, Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC),
Konkan Railway, Railway Manufacturing Units were among the other
dignitaries who visited the stall.

Alongside this, Bombardier, Siemens, ALCATEL etc. had
displayed their products and expertise. The Railway Ministry of
India also displayed their infrastructure and plans for the
future. Approximately 90 Exhibitors participated in the
exhibition.

During the exhibition, a two days International Railway
Conference 2003 was also held where papers were presented on
different subjects like Rolling stock, Track Modernisation,
Technologies for Locomotive and Coaches and technological
advancement in Signaling & Telecom. From ALSTOM Dr. A Henning
and SP Srinandan presented papers on 'The New Generation
Passenger Coach for Indian Railways' and 'ALSTOM ERTMS as applied
to Delhi Metro' respectively.
