ALSTOM awarded small hydro projects in Brazil

These orders, worth around 13 million euros, are for the delivery of 8 Kaplan horizontal turbines with speed regulators and 8 generators and their mountings to the plants of  Pequenas Centrais Hidroelétricas Garganta da Jararaca, Paranatinga II and Canoa-Quebrada. 

ALSTOM’s flexible range of turbines, achieved after a long period of development and investment, made it possible to offer the solution of using horizontal Kaplan machines to achieve such high output levels, instead of the traditional vertical ones.  This solution will enable customers to reduce overall costs in civil works and maintenance as the construction and manufacturing time will be shortened.
