ALSTOM signs license agreement for its air pollution control technology in China

The agreement grants HPEC a license to market, sell and supply ALSTOMs proprietary open spray tower technology for wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) systems. The agreement became effective on 29 September, 2004. ALSTOM will provide WFGD technology, engineering, and marketing support to facilitate HPECs participation in the Chinese WFGD market during the agreement.

"ALSTOM has the full range of reference experience for this market and HPEC has the ability to deliver the technology on many projects"

ALSTOMs advanced WFGD technology for the removal of sulfur dioxide emissions offers removal efficiencies of over 98%. With 38,000 MW in WFGD reference plants, ranging in unit size up to 1300 MW, it is a world leading provider in air pollution control systems.

HPEC is one of the top Chinese power generation manufacturers including being the largest boiler supplier as well as turbines and generators. HPEC is also the oldest power generation supplier in China.
