ALSTOM to supply chemical scrubbers to the motor industry in Japan

ALSTOMs Environmental Control Systems Business will supply KEM-PAK chemical scrubbers that were developed in the mid-80s in partnership with Toyota. KEM-PAK is specially designed to eliminate Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), such as odorous gases from automobile factories, as phenol, formaldehyde and ammonia that are emitted during the casting process. It is one of our complete lines of VOC products.

This technology is based on a unique design and scrubbing liquid conditions and is consequently cost-effective solution for the customer, due to its reliability and flexibility to adapt to production line loads, offering up to 60% potential savings in running costs compared to conventional technologies.

This order represents the tenth KEM-PAK unit to be supplied to Mazda and the first to Nissan. Completion of delivery of the two units is scheduled for end-2004.
